  2. Service Manager - SEASONAL

    Location: Rosseau Bay Marine, Lake Rosseau, Ontario

    Position Overview

    Rosseau Bay Marine is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Service Manager to oversee daily operations of our service department. The Service Manager will be responsible for coordinating repairs, scheduling work, and maintaining excellent communication with customers, staff, and subcontractors. This role requires strong leadership, mechanical knowledge of marine engines and boats, and the ability to ensure high-quality service delivery in a fastpaced marina environment.

  3. Key Responsibilities

    Customer Relations

    • Provide positive, professional interaction with customers both in person and on the lake.

    • Contact customers with repair estimates in a timely manner and obtain approval before proceeding with work.

    • Clearly explain service requirements, estimated completion times, and associated costs to customers.

    • Collect payments for all services including repair orders, slip rentals, storage, and boat rentals.

    Service Operations & Administration

    • Utilize company service software, CRM, and scheduling systems to manage workflow and maintain accurate records.

    • Review and complete all work orders daily, ensuring invoices are prepared and payments collected.

    • Monitor unfinished repairs or jobs awaiting parts daily, rescheduling as necessary to maintain service efficiency.

    • Collaborate with the Parts Manager to ensure approved estimates are communicated, and parts are ordered and installed in a timely manner.

    • Communicate effectively with subcontractors (e.g., gel coat, upholstery, stereo, boat tops) to request estimates, schedule work, and oversee project completion.

    Team Leadership & Scheduling

    • Assign service jobs to technicians based on mechanical expertise and availability, ensuring efficient use of resources.

    • Work closely with technicians to maintain the highest standard of repair quality and accurate repair times.

    • Coordinate yard logistics by scheduling tasks such as boat launches, hauling, recoveries, and boathouse work with the Yard Logistics Manager.

    • Support summer staff by distributing work assignments and assisting with marina operations as needed.

    General Marina Support

    • From time to time, assist with day-to-day tasks including fueling operations, special events, or other duties as required.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Proficient understanding of marine engines, boat systems, and mechanical repairs.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

    • Proficiency in CRM, service management, and scheduling software.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical details to customers.

    • Strong leadership skills to motivate, support, and direct service technicians and yard staff.

    • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and building long-term relationships.

    • Experience in the marine industry or a similar mechanical service environment preferred.
